What do we call artifical leather?

To make my #Jucdesign bags, I use premium quality synthetic leather materials, which I mostly source from the Netherlands, Slovakia, Poland and Germany.
For my Gymbag models, I use a wide range of synthetic leathers, starting from matte materials with a homogeneous surface and a wide range of synthetic leathers with a metallic shine and 3D printed design.
I like them so much when making bags, but I often combine them with Indonesian, hand-woven batik canvas, decorative canvas, and sometimes with waterproof polyester materials on my bags.

Artificial leather is a popular alternative to genuine leather for several reasons:

Animal-Friendly: Artificial leather is cruelty-free and does not involve the use of animal products, making it a more ethical choice for those concerned about animal welfare.

Affordability: It is typically less expensive than genuine leather, making it a more budget-friendly option for consumers.

Durability: Faux leather can be engineered to be highly durable and resistant to wear and tear. It's often used in furniture upholstery, clothing, and accessories.

Versatility: Manufacturers can create a wide range of textures, colors, and finishes with artificial leather, allowing for more design flexibility.

Ease of Maintenance: Faux leather is often easier to clean and maintain compared to genuine leather, as it is less porous and less prone to stains.

Environmental Considerations: While the production of synthetic materials does have environmental impacts, it can be more sustainable than using animal hides, as it reduces the demand for livestock farming.

Artificial leather is commonly used in the fashion industry for items such as jackets, handbags, and shoes. It's also used in upholstery for furniture and automotive interiors. The quality and feel of artificial leather can vary widely depending on the manufacturing process and the materials used, so there can be a significant difference in the look and feel between various synthetic leather products.
