History of bag making

The history of bag making is rich and diverse, as various cultures and styles have created different types of bags over time. A bag is not just a practical item; it often serves as a tool for fashion and self-expression.

Prehistoric Times: In the early stages of human history, people typically used animal skins or plant fibers to create sacks or bag-like items to carry their food or other essential items.

Roman Empire: In the Roman Empire, leather bags and pouches were already in use, worn in various layers beneath their garments.

Medieval Period: During the medieval period, bags became increasingly fashionable. They were crafted in various shapes and sizes, expressing the social status of the wearer.

16th-17th Century: During this period, bag-making became more intricate, and bags evolved into luxury items. For example, elegant reticules and backpacks emerged among privileged classes.

18th Century: With the progress of the Industrial Revolution, bag making continued to evolve. Fashionable handbags, purses, and backpacks were crafted, becoming part of urbanized lifestyles.

20th Century: In the 20th century, bag design and functionality continued to progress. With the faster pace of the fashion world, new materials and styles emerged, and bag making became increasingly industrially producible.

21st Century: Bag making continues to dynamically evolve with the use of modern materials, technologies, and design trends. The fashion industry and sustainability play an increasingly significant role in the bag-making process.

To this day, a bag is not just a practical item but an important fashion accessory expressing the wearer's style and uniqueness.

Often, my inspiration stems from journeys or the wonders of nature. These characteristics manifest in special motifs and colors adorning my backpacks.
